Description
Contains the Aviarium of Hugh of Fouilloy (folios 1r-59r). All chapters and the prologues are present, but chapters 49 and 50 and after chapter 58. Illustrations: second prologue has a picture of the author with a dove; Part I has a picture of the cedar and Christ; Part II has portraits of the birds. Illustrations are full color. The style is similar to that of Bibliothéque Municipale de Chalon-sur-Saône, MS 14.
Also contains a complete illustrated bestiary of the First Family, H version, not noted in McCulloch or Clark & McMunn.
The combination of the De avibus and a version of the Physiologus and/or a bestiary is called the De bestiis et aliis rebus, usually (and incorrectly) attributed to Hugh of Saint Victor.
