Description

The Fiore di virtù, an Italian book on moralized animals, is on folio 26v-54r. There is also a text by Isidore of Seville possibly titled Della natura degli animal.

The content of the manuscript is [given] in a statement located before the text: "Fiore di virtü prouate con sentenze di diuersi autori sacri e profani. — Isidoro della natura degli animali in uolgare." The animal book presented here, written in Tuscan (folio 26v-54r), is arranged according to [?] classes and contains few interpretations ... begins with the title: “Qui chomincia il primo libro de Ysidero cioe della natura delli animali cioe bestie vciegli serpenti...", is about the land animals, [then] on the birds, which begins with a general chapter on the birds, [then] on the snakes with a general final article on these, [then] on the worms in general, whereby only individual species are specifically characterized, and closes with a chapter "clella natura degli animali razionali"...
