'Liber de naturis rerum' von Pseudo-John Folsham - eine moralisierende lateinische Enzyklopädie aus dem 13. Jahrhundert
Hamburg: University of Hamburg, 2003
The moralizing encyclopedia 'Liber de naturis rerum' by Pseudo-John Folsham is presented here for the first time in a critical edition. The work, written in five parts, represents an interesting example of the assimilation of natural history knowledge in the first half of the 13th century and brings new insights into the transmission history of numerous sources to light. ‘Liber de naturis rerum’ by Pseudo-John Folsham is the first critical edition of the anonymous natural-science encyclopaedia written 1230-40 presumably by an English Dominican. The book was later falsely ascribed to John Folsham, an English Carmelite, died 1348. - [Abstract]
