Nuevas aportaciones sobre la transmisión del Bestiari catalán
Revista de Literatura Medieval, N. 24, 2012, page 155-172
Seven copies of a Catalan text known as the Bestiary, itself derived from a Tuscan version, are currently preserved. The oldest Catalan versions date back to the mid-14th century and show a certain degree of homogeneity in structure and wording, except for one version, known as G, which lacks moralizing content. Thus, there are two complete texts, versions A and B, in addition to four fragmentary texts: D, E, F, and the folio preserved in the Girona Provincial Archive. In this article, we verify that versions D and E are in fact the same text and present a new folio from a very recent donation to the Library of Catalonia that has not yet been cataloged. - [Abstract]
