Description

A combination two manuscripts, including a lapidary, a bestiary and other texts. The "bestiary" is the Dicta Chrysostomi version of the Physiologus.

Part 1 (early Thirteenth century) :

  • Folio 1r-6v: Tables
  • Folio 7-45: Jean Beleth, Summa de ecclesiastiicis officiis
  • Folio 46: Fragment of the Latin Liber Lapidum of Marbode, bishop of Rennes. This fragment includes three stanzas of the lapidary: "Allectorio", "Chelidonio", "Gagate".
  • Folio 46: A list of the seven gifts of Adam
  • Folio 47: Compilation of liturgical texts

Part 2 (2nd half of the Twelfth century ) :

  • Folio 48-70: Isidore of Seville, Synonyma
  • Folio 70 Hugues de Saint-Victor, De sacramentis christianae fidei (fragments)
  • Folio 70r-75r: Liber de bestiis, decorated with pen and ink drawings. The bestiary describes 28 animals. Poor trimming of the pages has partially cut off several drawings.
