Contains the complete illustrated Aviarium of Hugh of Fouilloy on pages 27-87. 30 full color illustrations; colored initials. Most of the bird illustrations are very similar. The aviary text begins with an extended discourse on the dove, hawk and sparrow, explaining the mystical significance of the colors and of the various body parts of the birds. Also contains De medicina animae, De rota and De pastoribus by Hugh of Fouilloy; sermons of Achardus of St Vaast; financial records. |
